- The Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal is one of Ontario's "quasi-judicial" tribunals. "Quasi-judicial" means "almost like a court of law". The Tribunal was created with the enactment of the Tenant Protection Act in June, 1998. The Act gives residential landlords and tenants specific rights and obligations, and sets out a process for how these rights and obligations can be exercised and enforced.
