Expanding the War to Iran

The new National Intelligence Estimate has come in and it seems that the Iranians have stopped their development of nuclear weapons thus removing the motivation for a preemptive strike on Iran by the United States.

The White House press are now grilling the George Bush's spokesperson Dana Perino; a new and welcome development. Does this mean that the media are going to stop publishing the lies that come from the White House without doing any analysis? Will the press start to look at things critically now? Perhaps.

These developments may be reason for hope, they may also be cause for greater concern. We need to recognize that there is a strong desire to attack Iran. These new developments do nothing to blunt this desire all they do is impede it. In order to regain the momentum to attack Iran a new false flag attack may be required.

While this sounds like good news, in reality the ante for this round has just been increased.

Subverting the Democratic process by Poll Rigging

Do not look to America as a shining beacon of democracy and freedom. At least they show us all good examples of how NOT to do democracy.

Ron Paul on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno 10-30-07

Ron Paul's support continues to grow. Now there is a 'real risk' that he may in fact win. Best news I've heard in a long time!

How Democracy is Destroyed

Naomi Wolf speaks

She presents a list of things that have been done in other societies to usher in dictatorial or tyrannical governments. It's remarkable how many of these things are happening in our society today.

She had a concluding message that was rather powerful. Rather than dilute the message I would refer you to time index 42:14. The whole presentation was interesting; the last five minutes are profound.

For those of you that enjoyed her speech here is an interview that Naomi held

Naomi made another point that is worth while considering. At one point those of us that are being outspoken, stop. We self sensor. We already see the use of force to coerce people, we already see people being 'disappeared'. At what point do we look at the swing towards fascism and say it is better to focus on individual safety and stop speaking out? If you were a Buddhist in Burma would you still be protesting, now?

Naomi mentioned this web site when asked what people could do to try and stop this slide. http://www.americanfreedomcampaign.org/

American Democracy

Ask an uncomfortable question, get tazzered.

Here is a more detailed view.

I believe two of these officers have been placed on paid leave pending a review of the university police policies.

While it's too bad they didn't stand up and intervene while the incident was going on, it is good to see that the students got over their shock and have started to take action.

Ron Paul: Momentum Growing

Ron Paul is winning straw polls and he is performing will in the debates. There is an image circulating of the txt message voting that was held following this last debate. Ron Paul won and surprisingly the networks didn't "fix" the results.

There have been reports of dirty tricks used in some of the straw polls as well. Properly registered Ron Paul supporters showing up on time being denied access to the poll is the latest example. Expect more dirty tricks, expect mass media to continue to ridicule and demean Ron Paul, understand that this is the established order attempting to thwart legitimate change.

Watch the video and hear from Ron Paul himself what he feels should be done and you will understand the broad based support Ron Paul has. "Freedom is a powerful message."

In this video clip we can hear some of the other candidates laugh while Ron Paul is stating his position on various issues.

"First they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win."

Diebold Election Systems tries to hide

"This is both a fresh identity for our company and a unique opportunity for us to concentrate our focus solely on providing best-in-class elections solutions for current and potential customers," said Dave Byrd, president, Premier Election Solutions.

You can find the full press release in pdf format here.

I can understand this company seeking a new identity. Their products have lost their certification, they can no longer be used in California, last I heard. Aside from the profit motive of private corporations and the desire to be able to 'fix' elections, I can see no good reason why our elections need automated systems. These automated systems are vulnerable to tampering in ways simply not possible with a good ol paper ballot. Eliminate the machines from our election process and drive these irresponsible, unethical and in some cases down right criminal companies out of business. They are a threat to our democracy.

For those of you that still think automated voting machines are good, please do some additional research and see how these systems have already been used to circumvent our democracy. A good place to start would be Black Box Voting.

Removing the machines from our elections

An article from We The People Foundation describes the efforts that are being taken to remove machines from the election process. These machines have been the cause of irregularities and hacks have been publicly demonstrated.

However examined or weighed, the potential gains in vote counting "efficiency" cannot be used to justify placing our fundamental Right to Vote at known risk by the use of provably defective and un-secure voting machines and by tolerating election procedures, such as non-public "back-room" vote totaling, that are so obviously constitutionally deficient that their use is unconscionable as part of a "free" nation.

Lawsuits in every State, and if necessary, civil disobedience must be the order of the day, beginning now.

Ron Paul 2008 Status Update

It looks like Ron Paul is going to be excluded from the Iowa debates. Why should the American people choose who their leaders should be? It's so much easier when these decisions are just made for them. In this particular case you can thank the Iowans for Tax Relief and Iowa Christian Alliance for making these decisions for you. Here's their contact information so that you may thank them personally.

Ron Paul - 2008 Presidential Candidate

In order to solve problems we must start by speaking honestly about them. It is refreshing to see a candidate that is willing to talk about the serious issues in such direct ways.
