United Kingdom: Study warns new energy law will see prices plummet

The Guardian has an interesting article on how new legislation regarding energy consumption could negatively affect the value of older, more energy inefficient buildings.

I find this interesting because I think it is just a harbringer of things to come. While a furnace for a home is only a few thousand dollars, buyers already give the age and efficiency attributes quite a bit of attention.

I am looking forward to the first studies on renewable energy systems and their impacts on property values. I suspect the value of these upgrades will appreciate with time, then again I am expecting energy prices to continue to rise.
